Northern Pintail - Village Creek Drying Beds, Tarrant County, December 24, 2011. First identified in the field as a Gadwall X Northern Pintail hybrid, the identity of this odd duck was corrected to a probable intersex Northern Pintail by European hybrid expert Joern Lehmhus. An intersex bird is an adult individual displaying both male and female characteristics.
