Black Skimmer - Inland Black Skimmers are often attributed to hurricanes or tropical storms, but the presence of three juveniles at Lake Tawakoni, in Rains County, from August 5-8, 1996 was not the result of such a disturbance. This was the ninth record for North-central Texas as well as the third for Lake Tawakoni. This record was also the first to involve more than a single individual and the first to be well-documented. Interestingly, a Royal Tern was also found there on August 9 of that year
