Adult in worn breeding plumage, July 2017, Hagerman NWR, Grayson Co.

Small grayish bird with single dark breast band and brow band. Orange legs and small orange bill with dark tip.

The breast band may be narrow or broken/incomplete on the center of the chest.

Semipalmated Plover is similar, but has a full bridle on the face, and is brownish on the back and head.
