Adult in winter plumage transitioning to breeding, March 2019, Wolf Spgs. Rd / Blue Sky Sod Farm, Dallas Co.

Mottled brown/gray color with dark cap and distinctive eyebrow. A few black feathers are visible on breast.

Birds in full breeding plumage have completely black underside, neck and face, including under tail (Black-bellied Plover has white under tail)

Thinner body and smaller head compared to Black-bellied Plover.
