Eurasian Teal, (bird on left) Village Creek, Tarrant Co., Feb 1st, 1994; REMAINS THE ONLY DOCUMENTED RECORD FOR TEXAS

TBRC Comment:

Green-winged ("Common") Teal (Anas crecca crecca/A. c.nimia). One adult male was photographed in east Fort Worth, Tarrant during its stay 30 January - 1 February 1994 (MR, JWS, EW, MP; 1994-135). Lacking any evidence of captivity, this bird was unanimously considered to be a naturally occurring vagrant and, as such, provided the first fully documented Texas record of "Common" Teal.
