Most interesting birds:
1. Red-necked Grebe, Broad-billed Hummingbird, Long-tailed Duck (never seen on any Dallas count)
2. Common Merganser, Red-breasted Merganser, Greater Roadrunner (less than three counts in the last decade)
3. Osprey, Purple Finch (sightings on this count in a history of decline).
4. Common Loon, Horned Grebe, Eared Grebe, Blue-winged Teal, Canvasback, Greater Scaup, Blue-headed Vireo, Marsh Wren, House Wren, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Brewer's Blackbird (not seen every year).

Red-necked Grebe - observed on WR Lake, Thomas Riecke, Jim and Gretchen Peterson, Bob Stone, Larry Sall, Betsy Baker, 12-24-13
Broad-billed Hummingbird - Observed at private residence, Ruth Games, 12-19-13
While the weather made songbirds difficult, it appears to be a very good year for Pine Warblers, Harris's Sparrow, and waterfowl in general.
