Purple Finch  -  Parker County, February 26, 2005

These two Purple Finches (eastern race) were photographed in Parker County in the winter of 2005. Purple Finches have declined in the North-central Texas. Since House Finches have moved into the area (in the 1990's), Purple Finches have not been well-documented in the study area.
