Little Gull - Although sporadic, Little Gulls are occurring with increasing frequency in North-Central Texas, especially around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The top right individual was at Southside Wastewater Treatment Plant in January 2000. It was part of a small invasion that reached the region during that winter and the previous fall. The top left picture was taken from Lake Benbrook, Nov 14-19, 1999.

This Little Gull picture - with two Bonaparte's Gulls - was taken by Thomas Riecke on March 6, 2006 at the White Rock Lake spillway in Dallas County. Notice the uneven dark smudging on the crown, smaller neck, beak, and overall size.

See the map of other Little Gull observations.
