Fulvous Whistling Duck - Village Creek, Tarrant Co. April 26, 1998

This Fulvous Whistling Duck was present for several weeks during spring 1998 at Village Creek Drying Beds in Tarrant County.  This was the second year in row the species appeared at this location.  This species is considered "accidental" for this area.

Unlike Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, there are very few records from the area - and this photo by Martin is possibly the first record from Tarrant County. According to Martin, the birds stayed for only about 3 hours. See observation map.
