Black Scoter

Black Scoter - Black Scoters are seldom recorded in North Central Texas--in fact, there are fewer than a dozen records.  They have been recorded from October through May, though most records are in winter.  This female was photographed at Lake Tawakoni (Rains County) on December 28, 1999 where it remained until March 2000.
